導入部から違和感なく読み進めることができるが、しかしここに書かれていることは、日夜癌病棟やホスピスでケアに従事している人々が悩んでいることなのである。それが、筆者の実践と力量によるものだろうか、僅か140ページほどの薄い本ながら最低限必要なことは記載されていて、しかも手を抜いている部分がないことに驚かされる。この本は、あと書きにもあるように、むしろ論文をわかりやすく記載したもののようだ。出来れば、この本のエッセンス部分に、もっと実践から得られた智恵を肉付けして500ページほどの書物にしてもらいたい。そうすれば、初心者及び中級者のスピリチュアルケア入門としては、かなりのものが出来上がるに違いない。
蛇足ながら、やや価格が高い印象を受ける。
