5.0 out of 5 stars Great way to approach yogic mythology!Reviewed in France on 25 February 2019
  • The author of the blog 3heures48minutes still amazes us with her love of yoga and all the mysteries that surround it, and that make Indian culture such a rich and exciting culture. After having enchanted our taste buds with her first book Yogi Food, here she takes us to the land of legends and Indian gods, where we discover stories related to the different asanas that help us to better understand the postures, and through this to understand what yoga is and how it has evolved to this day. It probably took a serious amount of documentation to collect all these stories from all eras, and rewrite them with the flexibility and lightness that characterize a true yogi! Special mention for the illustrations: I did not know the illustrator CÄät but her style goes wonderfully with the texts and is very successful. A real journey!

5.0 out of 5 stars Big crush!
Reviewed in France on 13 February 2019
Clémentine strikes again with this book as original as the articles on her blog 3heures48minutes
This time, we are not going to talk about the technical side of yoga postures, but rather to discover what is hidden behind a posture, what animal, god or sage! and what does it tell us!
what is the often unknown story behind hanuman monkey god of Hinduism, the Lord of the dance or the downward dog, and not only the little story, but also the symbolic aspect! no less than 45 stories in this beautifully illustrated book and in a pleasant format! it will satisfy the student who wants to know more and the teachers who will enrich their knowledge, it will be an opportunity to share these stories with my students and it allows us to approach our practice from a new angle imbued with these legends! this book brings a soul to the postures, it is often what is missing to make our yoga experience richer! to read, reread and keep next to your mat!

This work is very beautiful, however the edition leaves a little to be desired because the spaces between the words are missing in a regular manner.

5.0 out of 5 stars Magnificent work on the mythology of asanas
Reviewed in France on 27 February 2019
Clémentine Erpicum, the author of the wonderful blog "3heures48minutes", delights us once again with a new book that this time traces the mythology of the yoga postures that we practice every day.
The writing is delicate and pleasant to read, the stories are beautiful and interesting.
A little extra that does not go unnoticed: the magnificent illustrations by CÄäT.
These perfectly enhance this text that is already delicious.

This book is a real treat and an excellent support for approaching yogic mythology; I recommend it to all people who are interested in yoga and the history of asanas.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating book to learn more about asanas
Reviewed in France on 29 March 2021
I devoured this book which taught me everything about the origin of the names of the asanas. I also enjoyed discovering what we are looking for in the postures detailed in this book. The illustrations are really nice. If you are passionate about yoga, this book is a gem to read and is quite different from all the other books I have read. Because there are many books on the subject that sometimes look the same.

Lack of illustration of postures and positive effects for each posture. Too bad. For a next edition perhaps. Namaste, cordially. Thank you
