What will happen when the age-old economy of scarcity gives way to the Age of Leisure? Professor Gabor, who won the 1971 Nobel Prize for physics offers a futuristic projection based on a static population and GNP, ""classless, democratic, and uniformly rich."" 

Fearful that total secruity ""will create unbearable boredom and bring out the worst in Irrational Man,"" Gabor is anxious to retain ""effort,"" ""hardship,"" and the Protestant Ethic -- lest society dissolve in an orgy of anti-social, hedonistic nihilism (viz. the current drug explosion and the spoiled-brat students). 

To avoid such evils Gabor proposes that work and its attendant moral uplift be divorced from production and the service sector of the economy be vastly enlarged. But this is only the beginning -- enthusiastic about Social Engineering Gabor suggests using it to weed out potential misfits, trouble-makers and ""power addicts""; supplementing I.Q. tests with E.Q. (Ethical Quotient) measurements; and modeling elementary and secondary education on the 19th century British public school which knew so well how to inculcate good citizenship, intellectual excellence and pride in achievement. 

The Third World, still wrestling with pre-industrial material want, is ignored -- since we can't afford any more industrial pollution presumably they will just have to adjust to their misery. Gabor's assessment of ""the Nature of Man"" shows a woefully naive Anglo-American ethnocentricity and complete ignorance of anthropology and his vision of post-industrial utopia operating on the moral axioms of the 19th century is as elitist as it is improbable.

위험한 세상
1971년 노벨 물리학 상을 받은 데니스 게이버는 인류의 미래와 사회 문제에 대해 깊은 통찰을 담은 글을 많이 남겼다.

그의 주장에 따르면 성숙한 사회는 사회 구성원들이 윤리지수가 높은 사회다. 강요나 감시에 의해서가 아니라 자발적으로 옳고 그름에 대한 신념을 지키는 사회 구성원이 많아야 좋은 사회, 성숙한 사회다.
삶의 성공 여부 역시 그가 지닌 돈, 학식, 지위, 권력의 성격에 의해 평가 될 수 없다. 개인의 삶도 자기가 얼마나 자신의 삶을 정직하고 진실하게 가꾸며 살아왔는 지에 따라 평가해야 한다.
윤석열 같은 이를 선택한 언론, 정권, 그를 지지하고 과대 포장 선전한 이들을 따라 국민 한 사람, 한 사람이 선택한 결과 우리는 평화의 길에서 이탈하고, 속임수에 넘어가고, 거짓 선전에 휘둘리는 위험한 사회를 체험하고 있다.

오늘의 현실은 우리의 도덕적 성숙도의 결과라고 말해도 과언이 아닐 것이다. 아래 도표에 따라 이제 한 번 평가해 보자. 윤석열과 김건희는, 한동훈과 행안부 장관, 등등을 평가하고 자신을 평가해 보자.

목사가 되어서는 안 될 사람이 목사가 되고, 지도자가 되어서는 안 될 사람이 지도자로 선택되는 세상은 문제 많은 세상, 위험한 세상이다.

    잘났다고 여기저기 군중을 휘저으며 다니는 사람들이 있는데 ... 이 표를 가지고 보면 70점 이하인 것 같습니다. 오호, 통재라!

      백승종 네, 슬프고 괴로운 일입니다. 고등학교 성적은 수퍼급이나 윤리지수가 거의 바닥, 범죄자 수준인 이들이 이 정권 실세들인 것 같아요. 저는 가끔 무섭습니다. ㅠ

    콘크리트층과 부패한 언론에 길들여진 어린백셩,그리고 타락한 목사에게 순종하는 광신도들
    그 미치광이에게 수요층이 있다는게 우리를 슬프게 합니다.

    부패하고 이기적 국민이 많아서 부패하고 위험한 굥똥과 거늬 부부를 봅았겠죠

    대학에서도 70점이하는 낙제입니다.
    윤가는 노자의 4등급 평가 기준으로 봐서도 맨 밑바닥인 경멸받는 지도자에 해당됩니다.
    쫓아내야 합니다.
