Karen took me on a journey with her as she stumbled through life, trying to find her path and her calling. Since childhood she had recognized that she had a unique gift; she was able to communicate with animals that were both living and dead. Unfortunately, her gift was received with negative responses and disbelief and, because of that, she ended up hiding her gift and even suppressing it somewhat. She describes several careers that she experienced and how they all kept bringing her back to one thing - the animals. Karen shares several stories that are heartwarming reminders of how our beloved pets are a part of us and never really leave us even after they cross over.

In this age of heightened psychic understanding and awareness, animal communication and its practitioners have gained both increasing credibility and respect. Consequently, a genre previously devoted to the afterlife of humans has expanded to include the afterlife of animals, and in her book titled on this theme, Karen A. Anderson brings to the ranks of Dr. Doolittle successors a variety of uniquely warm and pleasing stories regarding our furry pets and friends. In a rather condensed and anecdotal format, Ms. Anderson offers examples of afterlife communication precise and detailed enough to comfort any semi-skeptical reader, such as passed-over cats and dogs helping to solve cold case murders, as well as reassuring interactions with human family members who have also transitioned to the other side.
The description of the afterlife dimension, as told by the deceased animals in Karen A. Anderson's The Amazing Afterlife of Animals, is fully compatible with that related by such famous mediums and psychics as John Edward and Annie Kagan, and one will feel quite uplifted by their revelations. Ms. Anderson pays due respect to these, her predecessors, including an authenticating Foreword by the author of The Afterlife of Billy Fingers by Ms. Kagan. Such anointing and referral by an illustrious author in this genre should calm any reservations an interested reader might have regarding Ms. Anderson's contribution. And while this book does leave one wanting a bit more information and background on the stories and their interpretations, a bit more storytelling as it were, these marvelous snippets are truly quite unique, and they are as fun to read as they are too quick to end.

I purchased several books in an attempt to learn the “truth” but it was Karen’s book that resonated the most. It was after reading her book in just one day that I was able to channel some of my sadness into a celebration of happiness for having had the honor of loving her and sharing our lives together and being able to project that love to the universe. That very night, I was visited by my baby girl and it was the ONLY time, ever in a dream of mine, that I was able to touch and feel. I was able to touch my Hannah, feel her kiss me, smell her once again, and feel her paw on my face (something she always did!). I woke up with tears in my eyes and a full loving heart! I know she was really there with me and it was Karen’s book that showed me how to prepare for that visit and to recognize it for what it was!

This book is AMAZING. When I received it I read it all in one sitting because I couldn't stop reading. I cried in parts, smiled in parts, and said "oh my gosh" so many times. Karen has a beautiful gift for sure, and this just gives so much in depth understanding to how communication works. It gave me a lot of peace and happiness hearing explanations and descriptions of how our pets feel about their life and where they are when they pass on. Knowing now that the "other side" is not far away, just at arms length is wonderful and comforting. If you love pets and have experienced loss of one ( or several) this is a must read. I intend to buy more copies as gifts for friends who have recently lost their beloved animals. 2 paws up Karen, it is a beautiful book.

So I lost my beloved soul mate. To make it worse it was in tradgedy. Im a believer of honest people having a gift. I bought this in hopes of easing my pain. The first 1/4 of the book is all about the auther. When I finally read it I was disappointed. This book is all about different topics like reincarnation for example and explanations to different things. There are a few mini stories she uses to help explain something and some photos. When I was done I was left as I started. I wanted to cry with stories of others and what happened to them and how their pet communicated with them and I did not get that. So I went looking and honestly there is not anything like that. So I ended up ordering some books about rescue animals and their stories. I wish I had gotten the answers I was looking for but just because I didnt I could not honestly give the book some rating. She didnt get a 5 because for page after page after page it was about her. Im in grief..I dont want to hear about the auther. There is some informative info in the book. Just understand what you are ordering here. The book shipped quick in new condition.

Disappointing, to say the least. The author goes on and on and on about her professional/bussiness life...not even her profession about animal psychic! She talks little about the questions that really matter and we are all looking for when our pet is gone. Gives many examples and stories that can be easily be found on internet and not spend money in a book. I mean... Chapter 26, is the just from another world! The only thing in the book really. I had amazing people around me when I had my terrible loss, friends, family and strangers, all supported me. And they said all the nice things they could and exactly the ones she said, PEOPLE SHOULD NEVER SAY IN SUCH SITUATION! Well, these are the normal to say and I didnt answer badly, as she responds to this comments, and I thought they were thoughful and lovely. One of the things that some people say and you can encounter fairly easily, I had it once only and the man apologized after, is the typical comment... IT IS JUST A DOG! That I consider offensive and unsensitive and is not in this list she made on this useless book.

Spiritual issues are highly individual. They are unverifiable and ultimately come down to what you believe in. That is why this opinion is just my personal view. A lot of things Karen writes about don't ring true. But a lot of others correspond to what I experienced in my own life. Some are even confirmed by an amazing woman I happen to know, who definitely has a gift that surprised us more than once. Chances are, if you bought this book you believe in the afterlife and believe that animals have souls too. Perhaps you have experienced something; so many people did. Regardless of what you think of the book, the simple fact that so many people's experiences are startlingly alike, makes me think the book has some merit. You can decide for yourself.
