God concept: Chamunda, goddess of cremation
CONCEPT
(Before I post this Im having trouble formatting this so I apologize if this is hard to read)
I previously did a Chamunda that was basically a pre-rework kali to satiate the old differences, however, upon looking into her lore, I have come to the conclusion Chamunda could easily be a completely seperate god from Kali due to niche details in her lore and behaviour that easily make for a whole other moveset.
To explain, Kali and Chamunda are both associated with death and destruction, however, Chamunda is also attributed to cremation, haunting fig trees and being a withered old lady who carries a snake, a large trident, a lightning bolt and cups of bloody.
Playing on this idea I came up with a new moveset, with artwork I will post later.
Chamunda plays as a guardian, but not as one would normally think as she has the highest health pool in the game (slightly higher than ymir) but has low defense compared to others. Here real power comes from being an anti-gank brick wall of abilities to slow enemy minions and gods to a crawl and counter stealth, flooding the lanes with CC and a built in ward-function to alert her of enemies and prepare for them.
Appearance
Chamunda's appearances is a dark red skinned woman with hair tied into dreadlocks, but flair upward and become smoke.
She is wrinkled and withered, and stands with inwardly bent knees and a hunch. She wears a long hindu dress, but ripped and burnt at the end. Around her neck is a necklace made of faces akin to mummys. She has four arms. One of her left has a snake wrapped around it, carrying a cup full of blood (Which drips on the ground as she runs), while the other carries a vajra (a hindu artifact associated with lightning). In her right arms, she holds a large trident, upside down. It is surrounded by a dark cloud of ash and appears rusted and worn. The prongs drag in the ground, creating sparks and generally looking unpleasant. She has a third eye in the middle of her forhead, which is actually the only one she has open. She has two tusk like bottom teeth sticking from her mouth.
Passive: Return to Ashes:
Chamunda can apply ignite to enemies, reducing all their defences. If an enemy dies while ignited, Chamunda steals 5% of their total health back to heal herself.
Chamunda places a tree in the ground, that belches out hot ash in a field around it on a two second rhythm. Enemies in this field are slowed. Chamunda can place an additional tree at level 2 and 4. At level 4, Trees placed in jungle act as wards however, they have reduced range and only Chamunda can see them. For every tree placed, Chamunda gains an additional 5% magical power, and 15 mps.
*2. Chamunda throws a lightning bolt from her vajra which if it makes contact with the tree causes it to detonate the ash in a ball of fire, damaging nearby enemies and applying ignite. When ignited, theyre defense drops by a percentage based on the skill level. If the lightning bolt hits a god directly, they suffer a protection reduction and are slowed.
3. Chamunda turns herself into a burning body of ash, gaining increased movement speed and is unhindered by walls, slows and enemy gods for a few seconds. If she makes contact with an enemy, she applies ignite. If she meets a tree, it erupts. In this form she is also immune to the effects of wards, and can move unseen.
4. Chamunda channels her power of cremation and allows the departed to haunt her trees. Spirits of ash and smoke swirl around the trees in a storm, applying ignite, fearing enemies and pulling them towards the tree (think a reverse of Hun Batz’s alt that draws them into the centre) While this channel is going, Chamunda leeches health, and minions that are killed by the trees extend the timer by .1 second. The trees can be detonated by the lightning bolts to end the technique early in a burst of ash that knocks enemies back a distance and consumes ignite to do additional damage
Specific animations
*Standing – Her cups leak blood droplets onto the ground *Idle – Chamunda uses her trident as a crutch to lean on, and begins spinning the cups on her fingers *Jump - Chamunda jumps by pole vaulting on her trident *Wave – Chamunda uses her arms to juggler her weaponry while a free one waves *Dance – Baby groot dance or Firestarter by Prodigy *Run – Chamunda runs in a shaky manner, scraping her trident on the ground, bringing up sparks. She leans forward as she does this, her cups spilling blood droplets in a trail.
Jokes: *are you ready for a sick burn *I’m surprised I didn’t get here sooner, but its like I’ve been here before... *I may never wed, but Im very good at organizing a Hin-do *I have ash-est you and your results were poor
Taunts : *Ashes to ashes, even for the gods *Where there is smoke, there is fire
Directed taunts: *We cant look good forever, no matter how we are preserved (Aphrodite) *Well this is awkward (Kali) *You must have lost your head again to challenge me (Ravana) *I don’t normally cremate pets (Fenrir) *Learn to respect your elders, child (Cupid and Scylla) *Mine’s bigger! (Poseidon) *You’re not the only one, sparky (Zeus) *I saw you coming a mile away (Loki) *Ah, some kindling (Sylvanus)
The idea of this god was to create a hard counter to push and gank happy gods, as I noticed an inbalance in the push power of some gods. Her low defense means she would be wise picking stone of gaia, and building into high protection items and cooldowns to assist her abilities and ultimate, as this will be one of her most useful means to get around. While low in magical power, she does benefit from an ethereal rod/tahuti combo, but not at the cost of her self preservation.
