I liked his discussion of death and aging and service. This was my first introduction to him, and it was timely. I especially liked how he didn't shy away from being Richard Alpert. (less)

I’m really sad that I’ll never be able to see this guy speak live… He truly was an amazing person. Excellent talk.
My library's Overdrive download service had "An Evening with Ram Dass" available, but not the other part of this set. "An Evening..." is a 2CD set of Dass talking about serving others, using both very personal anecdotes about helping his father, and stories about his work with a non-profit. You can hear his ease with speaking. You get a little taste for the counterculture here, with a story about Wavy Gravy and mentions of chemicals.... I found the stories about his father perhaps too personal to share, while the rest was just OK. It was a nice introduction to Dass. (less)
