Australia is a collection of powerful institutions like media monopolies, fossil fuel companies, multinational corporations, law enforcement agencies and parliament.
Their deliberate expansion into natural worlds has caused irreversible global climate and ecological damage.
The electoral system is another complex process, designed to keep the people that profit off the destruction of the world in power. Australia’s hunger for exponential exploitation runs independent of the ballot box.
No government is going to deliver any true resemblance of safety – the lesser of two evils is still evil.
***
Direct action means thinking and acting for ourselves.
Direct action puts power back where it belongs, in the hands of the people who use it.
Direct action means finding another way, instead of validating the slow, ineffective and inaccessible mechanisms that exist within the system to ask for change.
***
Australia relies on the daily movement of goods, labour and resources to operate.
Pinch points in these supply chains are accessible, important, and vulnerable.
We can use direct action to disrupt them, and wield real and relevant political power.
It’s time to undermine Australia’s authority over this land and create the space needed for change. See you on the streets June 27 #BlockadeAustralia

- Pat BuoncristianiWhere can I read a detailed description of your solutions to these problems? What policies do you have? When you break the systems currently in power, how do you see a restructuring developing - what are your processes?9

- Julie McNamaraPat Buoncristiani Very good questions Pat. I certainly am not against people power, but to destroy without a plan seems a bit scary to me too.4

- Seaweed DriftingJulie McNamara environmental political groups and independents and 100's of scientists have answers that show feasible transitioning away from fossil fuels and logging old growth forest for two decades and more, but they are being ignored fir close on 50 years really. It is not necessarily the role of this group to provide answers that are already well in circulation.Front line action environment defenders are filling a role that noone else is currently ready to do, that is to put bodies in front of machines and rogue corporations, to slow down and stop the reckless and dangerous destruction of the planet for profit. The planet is being destroyed faster than we can change policies. Someone needs to stand in the way. It's that simple.

- Sebastian SyderPat Buoncristiani We should be on something similar to being war like footing to solve climate change, Quote Prince Charles, but the people asleep to ever increasing rising greenhouse gases I can understand people of Blockade's Australia's frustration. We have the answers. I suggest you get familiar with some of Saul Griffiths ideas. If you can be bothered research he writes google him. Remember the Police Minister Poole Toole of a party of environmental criminals bent on destroying the environment for profit and short term political gain, the destroyer of rivers, forests and promoters of fossil fuels and what for jobs jobs jobs. Pathetic People . The state, the National Party, is at war with climate and environmental activists. In 2080 a ten year old will be the same as I am now. We can only imagine what the world will be like then. Will whales, marine life be able to survive rapidly acidifying oceans. "Ocean acidity has increased about 25% from preindustrial times to the early 21st century, a pace faster than any known in Earth's geologic past. The acidity of the ocean is greater than any point in the past two million years." We do have a climate emergency, our species is so stupid un yet can be so wonderfully intelligent.

- Cate AdamsIllyria Tyers There are plenty of people have been doing that for the last 30 years. The activists have their role, the scientists, engineers and social planners have theirs. The activists role is to get those in power to listen and for the Fossil Fuel companies to know they no longer have a Social Licence to keep destroying the planet.2

- Elizabeth A O'HaraIllyria Tyers I am nearly 70 and have lost track of the number of delegations I've been on to politicians, the number of letters I've written, the number of protests I've organised and attended, the number of courses I've attended to ensure I'm properly informed. I understand the frustration of these activists and applaud their bravery in the face of the capture of the Coalition and ALP by the fossil fuel industry, bigpharma and agribusiness2
