This documentary left me speechless I’ve been watching your journey and videos a lot but this documentary was executed so well. I loved it! I’m only 17 years old but this gave me so much perspective and I’m so thankful and glad that I got to see and experience your documentary. I find myself often stressing about the future but then I remember I’m young and I have so much opportunities and so much time and im going to use it well and enjoy life. Im going to look deeply into Wudang mountains and plan a trip there whenever I can! Much love

What a fantastic journey! This was thrilling to watch. Well done! This isn’t just a documentary but a meaningful contribution to society. Ten minutes in at the point where Roman was speaking, I felt something come over me, a reverberation and then a stillness. I felt ready to see what came for the next 50 minutes. For someone with adhd I thought I wouldn’t make it to end but I was so caught up with the whole journey that the time disappeared. I was surprised to think it ended so soon. The world needs this.

I can't begin to tell you how much I needed this. I recently turned 69, and I have been feeling as if my life was over. Even though I am unusually healthy for my age, my body has let me know that I am no longer young. I live in isolation, in a place that is not my home, with very little social interaction. Perhaps this is an opportunity to turn within and develop a new understanding of life and mortality. I am a Zen Buddhist, and I find Taoism is completely compatible with the Dharma of The Buddha. Thank you for taking this journey. Whether you realize it or not, you have taken it for the benefit of all sentient beings. One thing I have learned in my 69 years is that if you change one thing, you change everything! Keep up the good work, please!Read more

Hello, this is Google's translation. I am very fortunate to see the traditional Taoist culture of China being discovered and liked. I am a Chinese. I love traditional Chinese culture very much. I have been to Wudang Mountain and participated in a short training. Thank you George.[天人合一,道法自然] Man and nature are united, and Taoism is natural. Thank you

Hey George! Thank you for making this. When I visited China to see my cousin, we traveled to Wudangshan and met Master Gu and a couple of the other students. We had tea and were able to receive a Daoist lesson before we continued to the top. It is surreal to see this up on youtube and see the temples we visited. Outside of the culture, no one where I live knows anything about Wudangshan or Daoism so it's an excellent way for me to show people and for them to start their Journey. If you ever saw an "Ohio State University" shirt, that was from my cousin haha. Thank you again for making this!

This was an incredible documentary! Probably the best I've ever watched! The cinematography is great but the message is even better! I love that you weren't over inflating facts or talked with a lecturing tone. It felt so genuine and was really beautiful to watch. I really hope you open the captions for translation (my parents speak French and I really want them to watch this). And I REALLY hope this gets the recognition it deserves! Bravo to everyone who was involved and to you George! You were brave and awesome! ♡Read more

Loved it. I've been a western Taoist since I found the Tao Te Ching at age 13, after a falling out of belief with my born faith (Christianity). Nobody has ever begun to make Taoist content (especially with over 100k views) until recently, and I very much appreciate the work you put into this full length documentary on my most favorite thing in the world. I mean, how could the Tao not be? I've enjoyed watching you and this channel grow with this sweet old Master on the mountain. Wish you peace and clarity.

I've watched this twice since it came out and it's truly wonderful. Not only is it an excellent introduction to Taoist ideas, but it has an amazing narrative and outstanding cinematography. The way you weaved it with both the pandemic and other global issues was fantastic as well. Looking forward to more videos and more from Master Gu as well. Cheers from the US!

Your generosity in documenting, persevering through, and sharing this amazing work/film is exemplary, humbling and deeply inspiring. I have come to a state of deep awakening (if I may call it so, without arrogance or pretentious claims) quite recently, my life rapidly seeing a multitude of beneficial changes on ALL levels, and though I came from a multiplicity of philosophies, sciences and meditation (along with many more "items"), these various facets of my path are ultimately mere reflections of the singularity that we all share in, consciously or unknowingly. Your journey seems to have many similarities to my own chaotic path, and I have the dearest wish I could at least once perhaps travel to and meet the same part of this world as you have. I think and believe (and feel) a lot of what we are given a glimpse of in this film is how things should be for Nature and us humans, universally. If I cannot find it in this life to make even a brief, honest and humble pilgrimage to this most impressive and harmonious place of wisdom, then I shall let it inspire me as wholly and fully as I can assimilate and breathe its natural principles into my own daily reality. Bless you (and All of you).Read more

Thank you for telling/filming such a brilliant story of discovery of one of the deepest principles that we humans can come to understand in Daoism. I was jealous that you were able to return to China in this time as I had been discovering China for the two years before the lockdown of humanity and had planned to return to the Shaolin temple. I practiced 10 yrs of Kung Fu and love this art and its teachings. There is a longing within me to return to China but it doesn't seem possible for at least awhile. Your return and the filming of your journey is beautiful. I hope I can figure out how to return to our ancient roots in China, so deep, so ancient, so beautiful. The spirit of China lives in my heart! Thank you for such enlightening insights and for documenting your journey into the wisdom we all need to learn and to share our beautiful home on earth. Thank you very much for this sir. I truly appreciate it. This film has made me think deeply about my own need to follow the Dao. The insight and information in this film is pure gold. I cannot express how wonderful it feels to understand that we are all a part of everything, as everything is a part of all of us. Your other videos are also wonderful. They are very extremely helpful for me. It is very easy to get caught up in the dog and pony show of modern society. The one thing I find very interesting is the fact that humans are basically the same today as they where 2,500 years ago and human nature has not changed in all that time. Please keep sharing with us as long as you are able to.

This documentary is absolutely fantastic. I have been profoundly moved to actually question my life in the context of the greater whole. I thought those concepts were merely philosophical, something to contemplate when there was nothing else to do. Wow. I have always been drawn to Daoism, as a philosophy, but not as a practical mode to walk through my day to day life. I am open to the experience of fullness/emptiness as two parts of the whole. Thank you so very much George for making this available to us. I am truly interested in the Master Gu's Academy that will help me become the best version of myself in this lifetime, navigating the rapids we find in the collapsing systems of this world.Read more

Really refreshing. After many years devoted to meditation and self-awareness, about 20 years ago I jumped back into the world with no more goal than just being a regular human being living a life I find personally fulfilling. Agreed that the insights and transformations of a philosophy such as Daoism are too precious and beneficial to only be available to people who live way up in the mountains. And you have given a great example of how to bring the ancient wisdom from working on yourself back into the busy modern world. It's not an easy thing to do and the lessons of life continue to humble us over and over again. But this is The Way, and your film here is a gorgeous testament of it.Read more

I also struggle in understanding what am I to do in life but combining Daoist philosophy with the Buddhist understanding of the whimsical mind it helps navigate the mind's trials and tribulations. Thank you for such a lovely film

Wow what a gem you are George and how intune and part of the whole you are, to set off in perfect timing to tell the higher story of what this time is trying to show us. I thoroughly enjoyed even though none of these ideas are new to me. It’s a perfect film for me to share with my family, clients, social media followers . In its simplicity and the perfect timing of the tale , you capture ones focus so that the 1st principles may be dropped like a seed in a precise furrow. I’ll do my very best to share this beautiful film far and wide.

I am very fortunate to have seen this and follow you in journey, George. This was great and inspiring. Great because you share the Dao's philosophy in relationship to our current challenges. Inspirational because you followed your heart and made friends along the way that have so much to offer despite them living in the mountains. Its content/information like this that needs to be spread more often than whats usually being put out (fear/negativity). I say this because it seems like we as a whole are off balance. I do my part and am working on putting out more and similar content but ultimately, I want to say thank you for making this and being you, man.Read more

I’m fortunate enough to live in a beautiful part of NE Scotland - same latitude as Moscow - so the warm weather is in short supply and often we get 4 seasons in one day. The gloomy days depress me badly, but being outside and walking along the coastal path is a daily meditation for me. You are young but I can see how you carry a heavy load of worry and care. Your meditations will help to keep you grounded but do not forget to have some fun too. Love and light to you and yours

I'm happy to say that the spark has returned to me! I'm starting over by watching your fascinating content & am hoping to deliver into the deeper parts of my humanity so that I can find my way back to the peace I had before & find my life's purpose. I want to thank you George. We don't know each other, but I'd be remiss if I didn't thank you for your friendship & allowing the world to accompany you on your journey.
