An author and scholar of Gnosticism and Jungian psychology, Hoeller is Regionary Bishop of Ecclesia Gnostica.[2]

In 1950, Krishnamurti said: "If we are concerned with our own lives, if we understand our relationship with others, we will have created a new society; otherwise, we will but perpetuate the present chaotic mess and confusion."

Providing a far-reaching basis for solving many of the world's crises, On Relationship brings together Krishnamurti's most essential teachings on the individual's relationship to other people and institutions. The renowned teacher makes clear that the way we handle personal crises and relationships links us to the problems of all people and has a larger, global meaning. Ending the causes of war, for instance, cannot truly begin until we perform simple, but often ignored, tasks such as reconciling with estranged family members, keeping our homes in order, and respecting others.

J. Krishnamurti

Krishnamurti is regarded globally as one of the greatest thinkers and religious teachers of all time. He did not expound any philosophy or religion, but rather talked of the things that concern all of us in our everyday lives, of the problems of living in modern society with its violence and corruption, of the individual's search for security and happiness, and the need for mankind to free itself from inner burdens of fear, anger, hurt, and sorrow. He explained with great precision the subtle workings of the human mind, and pointed to the need for bringing to our daily life a deeply meditative and spiritual quality.

Krishnamurti belonged to no religious organization, sect or country, nor did he subscribe to any school of political or ideological thought. On the contrary, he maintained that these are the very factors that divide human beings and bring about conflict and war. He reminded his listeners again and again that we are all human beings first and not Hindus, Muslims or Christians, that we are like the rest of humanity and are not different from one another. He asked that we tread lightly on this earth without destroying ourselves or the environment. He communicated to his listeners a deep sense of respect for nature. His teachings transcend man-made belief systems, nationalistic sentiment and sectarianism. At the same time, they give new meaning and direction to mankind's search for truth. His teaching, besides being relevant to the modern age, is timeless and universal.

Krishnamurti spoke not as a guru but as a friend, and his talks and discussions are based not on tradition-based knowledge but on his own insights into the human mind and his vision of the sacred, so he always communicates a sense of freshness and directness although the essence of his message remained unchanged over the years. When he addressed large audiences, people felt that Krishnamurti was talking to each of them personally, addressing his or her particular problem. In his private interviews, he was a compassionate teacher, listening attentively to the man or woman who came to him in sorrow, and encouraging them to heal themselves through their own understanding. Religious scholars found that his words threw new light on traditional concepts. Krishnamurti took on the challenge of modern scientists and psychologists and went with them step by step, discussed their theories and sometimes enabled them to discern the limitations of those theories. Krishnamurti left a large body of literature in the form of public talks, writings, discussions with teachers and students, with scientists and religious figures, conversations with individuals, television and radio interviews, and letters. Many of these have been published as books, and audio and video recordings.

More information about Krishnamurti’s life can be found in the biographies written by Mary Lutyens and Pupul Jayakar.

If we change our consciousness, we can change the world ... & so much more. I am so impressed that I've purchased several copies as gifts for close friends. It comes from within & not from with-out. All I can say is read, study, learn, explore, question, & become a new person without image ... if we can.

totally amazing, life changing book. if you struggle with mindfulness in the heart of emotional upset, this book is for you.
If you'd like to break old patterns of negative thinking and self-sabotage, this book is for you.
If you'd like to stop living up to the status quo and start manifesting your inner vision, this book is for you.
If you are a human being with a chatty mind, this book is for you.

very simple, clear, life-changing meditation techniques that help you reach a whole new understanding of who you are and what it is to be alive. Spoiler Alert: it's about being pure awareness, minus all the muck & mess of ego & collective consciousness.

My only complaint is, I bought the paperback book for $12 a few weeks ago. Just logged in to buy several copies, as gifts for friends/clients, and all of a sudden the cheapest one is $64? Why price a book that everyone should read so high that few will buy it? I hope the vendors re-think their pricing, to make it more accessible to everyone.

I had never heard of Tom Stone before I read this book, and I absolutely wish I had a time machine so I could give this book to myself the second I came out of the womb. It is a staggaringly straight forward approach to what most people call Enlightenment, a better term for which would be Integrated Human Adulthood.

This is not a theoretical book on spirituality. It is practical to the core. Tom leads his readers through a series of exercises designed to get, as fast as possible, into the state of direct experience of the self. Further, he shows the reader how to resolve all the trauma that is perpetually making our lives miserable.

I have read hundreds of books in the Enlightenment/Spiritual/Self-help/Theology genre. This is one of my top 3 favorites. Why, because I followed the steps and it is working!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars What my mind-body practice has evolved into !!Reviewed in the United States on December 8, 2014
Verified Purchase
This is an outstanding book. Tom's explanation of emotions and how to deal with them at their core represents a very high approximation of truth. If you are ready to get rid of your story and can understand that, at their root, emotions like anxiety, depression, etc are really just raw sensations of stuck energy that need to be experienced to completion in order to heal, then these techniques will work extraordinarily well for you. I believe that these techniques may be one of the missing links for folks who are dealing with the overwhelming sensations secondary to prior traumas or attachment issues.

After 20 years of practice as a physician with an emphasis on mind-body healing techniques, my work has evolved into this (along with Dr. David Berceli's Tension and Trauma Release exercises, and FasterEFT meridian tapping). Primarily because the techniques taught by these schools have given me the most relief personally as well as been most effective with my patients.

Stone's newest book entitled Emotional Mastery is also highly recommended
