My nieces and nephew loved me until they grew up. I did so much for all 5 of them. If I died tonight I truly doubt any of them would notice. It’s a source of great heartache for me. I’m 60 years old and just can’t keep doing or giving if there’s nothing but apathy on the receiving end.

Dkb Sutton I know exactly what you mean and when reading the first sentence of your comment, for a mili-second, I thought you were talking about my relationship with my nieces and nephews because I'm 70 and treated the same way!! I can no longer give as much being retired (I retired at 63). I can't do as much with my poor health issues and I'm often left to feel I'm not a part of their lives at all!!! It hurts as I have no children of my own and they have always been my biggest joy!! Just push through and keep loving them anyway. THAT, they WILL miss!!

Dkb Sutton seems a lot of younger generation is doing that to us older ones. It’s kinda weird that so many experience it .
Planned? Pushed? A narrative though education?
I’m trying to put my finger on it lately

Dkb Sutton that is how we human beings are. So ungrateful! Pray for them. They will remember you when they will suffer the same situation!

Dkb Sutton Understand what you mean. It seems some young people get to busy with life and forget what or who is important. I am an aunt with no kids. I know of grandparents who would feel the same as you do.

Dkb Sutton i have lost my aunt couple of days ago and we maybe weren't that close as when i was a kid but aunties are the best. They give a different love. They can do crazy and no rules if they want. I miss her very much. Friday is the last goodbye. And she wanted a colorful funeral with shoes and flowers en clothes in color. They are just different and will never be forgotten.

Dkb Sutton poor parenting, Auntie. Blame your siblings. Yes, kids get bigger and things change but it's up to the parents to instill in them the way relationships work. 🙁

My favorite aunt who I did absolutely everything with died in a car accident when I was around 8. 20 years later and I still cry every time I think about her. This kid is lucky. I wish I was still able to hold and hug my aunt. Shout to all of the aunts out there that are like 2nd moms. You don't go unnoticed.

Jonathon Rice I am so sorry for your loss. I helped raise my nephew. My sister, mother nephew and I all lived together. He is the light of my life and I am his number 1 best girl. I took him to all the events like Monster Trucks, Bob the Builder and of course the Transformers movies. He is now 25.

Jonathon Rice my beloved aunt died when I was about 10. She was beautiful, funny, and a hoot! She was only 42 and died of a hemorrhage in her sleep. I can still hear my mother 's screams in the early morning hours when she found out. I loved her sooo much.

My godson loves me like that. Since he was a little boy until now. I’m 70 years old and he doesn’t forget my birthday, holidays and especially Mother’s Day. It touches my heart that he loves me so much.

Aunts are so special. My first niece was my absolute best friend. Unfortunately, she was taken away in a car accident in 2012 at 3 years old. She loved me just as this boy loves his aunt. So very special.

As an Aunt myself, those are the best kind of hugs and tears because she is also hugging hard and has tears! Precious moments ❤️

The parents (?) should just let the boy (and the auntie) have his moment enjoy their heartfelt loving reunion!!🥰

I had an aunt that I felt exactly the same way about. Lost her a few years ago and it left a huge void in my life. She was one of the best people on this planet.❤

When you have an Aunt that means a lot to you this is the natural reaction. I have an Aunt that is a huge part of my life still (I'm 48 y/o.) Some people are fortunate to have someone so special.

Travis Gage my favorite aunt I spent a lot of time with died at 42. I was 11 and I missed her so much , but i didn’t know that was grieving . It was in 1969. She had braincancer , it took a long time to put it away in my little heart.

Travis Gage my aunt was more of a mom to me than my own mom. So grateful to still have her in my life.

One day my little 3 year old niece came running out her front door shouting, “AUNTIEEE CYYYYN!!!” and my eyes just spontaneously started leaking. 🥹 Sweet girl. I grabbed her up just like this auntie did and held her tight. This is absolutely precious. What a beautiful bond. 😍

Why is he crying? Just seeing this scene, I am crying. I remember not seeing one of my Aunt, and Uncle for years. We were all crying that day, and also the day when they had to go back home.

I can relate to the love this boys feels, I have 2 Tías I love so dearly, my Tía Betty passed away 2 years ago, I was her caregiver up until her passing & my other Tía is deaf, I anticipate I will also be her caregiver when the time comes. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Tearing up remembering how hard I cried every time Aunt Lizzie had to leave for her home. I haven’t thought about that in many years. She was a wonderful person and we were so blessed to have her in our lives.
