5.0 out of 5 stars This book is simply amazing if you ask me.Reviewed in Canada on 21 January 2023
Format: PaperbackVerified Purchase

There are lots of books about healing, energy healing and more general about spiritual topics but only few are actually worth reading. In this day it is really hard to make a difference because thousands of books seem to be rated over 4 stars and some of them literally are cut and paste jobs with no original content. It seems that anyone can assemble a book of around 180 pages without breaking a sweat and saying anything new.

But this book is different. It is a book with rich content that requires attention and dedication to fully understand it. This is by far one of the best books I've ever purchased on this topic. I put it up there with the book Hands of Light from Barbara Ann Brennman. The author literally covers every healing discipline from traditional, to homeopathy and to energy healing. Energy healing is also split in multiple methods from electromagnetic healing to consciousness or mind healing. The human body and its subtitle bodies are scientifically presented author integrating all the various ancient schools of healing and showing how all are covering the same physical/metaphysical concepts. If your mind works as the one of a scientific researcher this is the book for you. If you work more on feeling without concerning yourself with all those details this book could give you too much information.

The author cites multiple sources that can lead you towards a certain direction of study if you feel the calling. Every section give multiple fragments from other books which were considered worthy to further detail a certain healing method, by the author. And if you trust the author of this book than you'll find more authors having books worth reading in those references.

5.0 out of 5 stars Potentially Life Changing ReadReviewed in the United States on 14 February 2020
Format: PaperbackVerified Purchase

This book is written by an MD and helps one understand deeper relationships in the body and how energy informs our body and soul. Some of it is pretty grounded and accessible, some gets cosmic, but it all is tied together with science underpinnings and some good studies.

I am an energy practitioner (the masterful type with a science background, not the fringe type) and this book allows me to come out from being judged as "woo" (which I hate, these are principles of the universe and physics folks) and helps people see a larger framework.

Science and medicine is fine but a very small box. And guess what - as soon as pharma/science can monetize energy healing (which they are doing as we speak) it will be a lot more validated. Truth is true energy healing requires no meds or supplements or cost to effect change, but I'll be happy to split it down the middle at least.... mainstream energy work will likely never get rid of migraines and fix guts with the complete holistic healing I've learned through bioenergetics.... but this book is a huge start to understanding a larger framework to the human condition.

5.0 out of 5 stars about “Vibrational Medicine” by Richard GerberReviewed in Italy on 29 October 2015
Format: PaperbackVerified Purchase

I already knew this book in its first edition. It's a fascinating book, a journey to discover new and ancient therapies connected to our personal energy. The new edition has an extra space dedicated to energy in wider contexts than purely medical ones.
A book for all the curious of the topic, written in a discursive way but that covers all aspects of the topic.

Originally read in 1996-7, I was privileged to meet & speak w/the author, Dr. Richard Gerber. I have a personally autographed copy & he is one of the most fascinating people I have ever met. He ties together so many concepts, beliefs & truths one simply must read it to appreciate it. My copy is all marked up w/notations & I still dip into it regularly... a must-own & read over as needed. Many thanks, Dr. Gerber.

Excellent read. Although I believe in the new age arts I am still very logical and often have a hard time reconciling the two. Richard Gerber went back to the science, which I just happened to complete my education in, and connected the two. Quantum physics explains so much of the energy around us and how it connects us all. In this book the left and right side of my brain finally found common ground.

As we enter the 21st century, the nature of healthcare is shifting dramatically. Many scientists and leading-edge thinkers now believe that human beings are more than biological machines with parts that age and wear down, only to be treated by drug therapy and surgery. A number of pioneering researchers embrace a new view of healing called vibrational medicine that combines the best of ancient healing love with a modern view of the body as an energy machine affected by many alternative techniques and treatments.

Dr. Richard Gerber is a traditionally trained western physician who is also one of the leading researchers and practitioners of vibrational medicine. In his new book, designed for lay readers, he takes us on a comprehensive journey to the new frontier of medicine where he presents the body as a complex, integrated life-energy system that houses our soul and all its creative expressions
explores the role of consciousness and "thought-forms" in health and illness
describes the benefits of the main vibrational healing modalities, including homeopathy, acupuncture, Chinese medicine, flower essences, color and light healing, magnetobiology, radionics and distant healing, and varieties of hands-on healing.

The dozens of notes I've made throughout this book attest to how provocative I found it. Gerber's diagrams and charts were helpful to me. In fact, there are several I have pulled out for use with clients.

Of all the books I've read on energy medicine so far, this is one of the most valuable ones to me, and it is already 20 years old. I am eager to read the newer ones to see how the knowledge base has expanded.

Absolutely intriguing scientific evidence to support the often sneered upon methodology of working with and proving the existence of energetic bodies and energetic healing. It goes to show that things your logical mind rolls its eyes at and write off without investigating can be extremely worthwhile and plausible if only you have an open mind. He lays this book as a foundation for which hopefully other doctors or researchers can build upon. Unfortunately, he died in 2007 (I believe that year) so there can be no more updated installments from the author himself.

One criticism I can offer is that Gerber tends to repeat his point multiple times to ensure you understand the concept within a given chapter. Often I find what he says redundant, sometimes in frustration because of the dry scientific writing style. It takes a little bit of effort I find to process his writings purely because they are a bit more on the academic side versus say a Harry Potter or Stephanie Meyers book.

There are some things that seem really "out there"--the Atlantis section comes to mind--but I've learned to not discount anything for absolute certain..At least within the confines of this book. I do discount the Pastafarian Spaghetti Monster oddly enough. ;)

This is a super comprehensive book. As I read, I looked up numerous of the many, many resources and experts the author referenced.

I stalled after reading the first 3 chapters - so much to absorb and quite technical. The next number of chapters I was quite in the zone and enscones in the material. The later chapters I felt repeated concepts unnecessarily often (from the same and previous chapters) and perhaps could have been condensed. I started skim reading a little as concepts were repeated.

Still, overall, this book blew me away. I am impressed at the author’s bringing together SOOOO much material, and his understanding (and simplification) of numerous scientific and technical concepts. And, I’ve found a handful of other books to read and continue to stoke my fascination on this topic.

A recommended read if you want to find out more about how energy / your energy bodies / vibrational medicine etc work.

The concept of negenthropy is a phenomenal departure from the order to decay idea and essential in order to comprehend the rejuvenative forces at play in regenerative healing such as the rebuilding of tissue in wounds, it will be decades before conventional western medical science catches up with the quantum or indeed will begin to acknowledge the extant life force in all living things. Until then we are merely to them decaying machines of flesh, gristle, bones and fluids unfortunately.

I. 요약 (Summary)

II. 평론 (Critique)

ResearchGate+1

Inner Traditions+2Google Books+2

Inner Traditions+1

Inner Traditions+1

Barnes & Noble+1

Inner Traditions+1

Inner Traditions+1

Barnes & Noble+1
Inner Traditions+1

ResearchGate+1

English | Summary + Review

Richard Gerber’s <Vibrational Medicine> is best read as a grand, encyclopedic <map> of “subtle-energy” healing rather than a clinically validated treatment manual. First popularized in the late 1980s and later expanded in a revised third edition (widely listed as 2001, Bear & Co.), the book argues that human health cannot be fully explained by biochemical mechanisms alone; it proposes a multi-layer model in which physical processes interact with subtler “energy fields” and informational patterns. ResearchGate+1

A key feature is its wide scope. Publisher descriptions emphasize that Gerber surveys many modalities under a shared vocabulary of vibration, frequency, and energy—covering acupuncture/meridians, chakras and meditation, Bach flower remedies, homeopathy, radionics, crystal healing, electrotherapy, and psychic healing, among others. Inner Traditions+2Google Books+2
The unifying move is conceptual: instead of treating these approaches as unrelated folk practices, Gerber frames them as different ways of influencing the human system across multiple layers (physical, emotional, mental, spiritual), often using physics-adjacent language (fields, waves, energy) to build a bridge from modern scientific imagination to older healing traditions. Some marketing copy even frames this as moving beyond a “Newtonian worldview” toward an energy-based model. Barnes & Noble+1

<Strengths>: The book’s major value is pedagogical and cartographic. For readers who want to understand the landscape of energy medicine—its categories, claims, and internal logic—Gerber offers an unusually comprehensive overview in a single volume. Inner Traditions+1
It also speaks to an enduring clinical and human gap: many patients experience illness not just as a mechanical failure but as fear, meaning-loss, identity disruption, and relational strain. A framework that legitimizes subjective experience can be useful—so long as it doesn’t overclaim.

<Limitations>: The central risk is the book’s “explanatory style.” Invoking physics terms (energy, frequency, fields) can function as metaphor, but it can also slide into sounding like empirical proof. Promotional phrasing about “the actual science of etheric energies” illustrates that hazard. Barnes & Noble+1
More importantly, the modalities discussed vary drastically in evidence and plausibility.
