I find myself re-reading this book all the time. It has helped me understand why I was getting so sick and what I did without knowing it to reverse that pattern. It has explained very easy things that I never thought about that were absolutely affecting my health. The exercises and meditations themselves are simple and easy to follow but the information in the beginning that has so accurately allowed me to see myself was my first thing that drew me to the book. As I have kept reading, the information about how healing ourselves is the first step in a bigger picture has kept me enthralled and highlighter at the ready.

It is a great book, if you are interested in healing yourself and those around you, it is a must read!

Recognizing Nothing as one's true nature, following the guidance of our conscience -- the absolute truthfulness that comes from Nothing -- having a clear distinction between absolute and relative values, and using the Earth as the external absolute scale that matches the internal absolute truthfulness.

This is where we have come on our journey together through these pages. How does this description sound to you? If it sounds close and natural to you, and if you can resonate with it, I would say it means your consciousness has gone through an unimaginable transformation during this conversation. You may well be proud of yourself even though your true nature, Nothing, doesn't have anything to feel attached to, or proud of. However, this is not yet the destination that I desired to reach. You may have found this journey delightful and liberating, but actually the most exciting part is just about to begin. So far, our conversation has been about knowing and being, more specifically knowing what we really are and being it in reality. From this point, this journey is about creating. Creating the changes that we desire in our personal lives, creating the reality that we desire to experience, and eventually creating the world that we wish for ourselves, others, and the generations to come. . . .

We all want to find the key to turning our desires and dreams into reality, the secret to utilizing the theory that "thoughts become things." Proponents of the Law of Attraction advocate the power of positive thoughts, which, they say, will act like magnets to bring results your way. Similarly, followers of The Secret will say, "Hold your desires firmly in mind -- for your soul mate, financial success, better health, or whatever is important to you -- and it will manifest in your life." These teachings imply, or state boldly, that you can make things happen just by holding ideas or images of what you desire in your mind. The problem is that this secret doesn't appear to work for everybody. So you may find yourself wondering, "If the principles of quantum physics apply to everything,

if it's true that observation by the conscious mind has the power to turn possibilities into reality, why doesn't my observation, my attention, affect or change things around me?" In response, I would ask you two questions:
1. Is it truly a good thing for you if your thoughts become things?
2. Do you really observe?

A new awareness and understanding
ByJohnon September 25, 2013

I read "Change" by Ilchi Lee and found it to be quite enlightening ( I am reading it for a second time). In his book, Mr Lee proposes a new way of viewing the world in which we live. He is a proponent of all humans living in harmony and protecting the Earth. In his view, we have the ability to create the world we want to live in. A world of great potential. To do this, Lee proposes that we change and become aware that we are all connected in some way through consciousness.

Also In this work, Mr Lee calls on thousands of years old east asian traditions and presents them in modern ways that are understandable and remarkably simple to implement. We just need to choose. Through the power of our conscious choice, we can create a positive and harmonious world and begin to heal our societies and the Earth saving both from inevitable destruction.

I highly recommend reading this book and reflecting on the many messages it contains. See what awakenings you may have once you put it down.

Why Change?
ByJin Heeon October 14, 2013

The latest book by Ilchi Lee emphasizes the power of choice to make changes in our lives. Our lives are constantly evolving and changing every minute. Do you let the changes happen to you, or do you cause the changes to happen in your life? The author tells us that honestly looking at yourself and realizing your true value in the world is the first step. Then taking action to let others realize their true value becomes the next step in creating the world in which everyone is happy. Our society that emphasized money, power and fame resulted in wars, poverty and cruelty. If we could focus on similarities instead of differences, we can create the world of peace, prosperity and kindness. If you want to achieve health, happiness and peace for yourself and others, we have to take action. If you just let change happen to you, you become stuck in the matrix and become unable to change. Choose to make changes that are positive not just for yourself, but for your family, friends, co-workers and the earth. It is time to wake up before it's too late!

Eye-opening book!
Byhumantigeron October 12, 2013
Format: Hardcover|Verified Purchase
Change is something everyone has hoped for, or prayed for at some point in their life. Sometimes it happens quickly, but other times... the phrase "the more things change, the more they stay the same." is too often true. People can get stuck in old patterns and habits. Clinging to those patterns and habits will draw us to an inevitable future.
The simple genius and universal truths in the "Change" book, doesn't only help us with an old habit or two, it is a key to unlock our unlimited potential and can be instructive to nearly every aspect of life. Changing how we see ourselves, creates the change we want to see in the world. A simply amazing book! You can't read this and not have new awakenings. I will be reading this again.

Doing Business The Quaker Way - Forbes

Doing Business The Quaker Way - Forbes

Imagine filing into the conference room for a business meeting, only to find the other participants sitting there in thoughtful silence. If someone has something to say, they stand up and speak; then others take their turn. No one ever interrupts. When a person finishes having his say, the silence resumes until someone else is moved to speak. No authority figure presides over the meeting, no vote is taken, and there is no agenda.
That’s how Quakers run their meetings, whether they have gathered for worship or to conduct the congregation’s business. If their methods sound eccentric, consider this: In centuries past, Quaker meetings produced decisions that shaped the course of capitalism. Given the poor-quality decisions emerging from corporate conference rooms these days, a revival of Quaker methods may be long overdue.
“I think that managers can adapt certain elements and the guiding spirit of the Quaker business meeting to their purposes,” said Margaret Benefiel, a Boston-based management consultant and the author of Soul at Work: Spiritual Leadership in Organizations.
Those elements include “a quiet, reflective frame of mind, mutual respect, [and] the idea that no one person has all the truth, but must listen deeply to others to gain a fuller picture of the truth,” said Benefiel, who is a Quaker herself, and teaches at Massachusetts’ Andover Newton Theological School when she is not advising managers.
Quakers are more properly known as The Society of Friends, which comprises not one organization but many. Each meeting house sets its own procedures. But they are all egalitarian. Quakers have no priesthood or hierarchy and defer to no human authority figures.
The faith was born in England during the 17th century. Persecuted for their beliefs, Quakers banded together for self-protection, forming communities and networks based on mutual trust. Supported by those communities and empowered by those networks, Quakers invented new ways of doing business. (At least one of their innovations is still with us: the traveling salesman.) Indeed, author David K. Hurst locates the cradle of capitalism in the little town of Coalbrookdale, England, where Quaker manufacturers like Abraham Darby forged the iron sinews of the Industrial Revolution.
During early Quaker meetings, “the business activities of their members were scrutinized by their peers, not only for their soundness but also to ensure that the interests of the broader community–not just the Quakers–were protected,” says Hurst, a management consultant based in Oakville, Ontario, who wrote about Quaker business methods in his book Crisis and Renewal: Meeting the Challenge of Organizational Change. The Quaker congregation “would stand behind the activities of members who were in good standing, and if one of them got into trouble, they would supervise the liquidation of the business and make good the deficit.”
Quakers soon crossed the ocean to Nantucket, which they made into the world capital of whaling, and to Philadelphia, where they planted the seeds of America’s own Industrial Revolution. Bethlehem Steel , for example, was founded by the innovative Quaker entrepreneur Joseph Wharton, who also endowed the world’s first collegiate business school at the University of Pennsylvania.
These days, the Wharton School is not known for propagating Quaker business techniques, and most people associate Quakers more with oatmeal or activist organizations like Greenpeace. But Quaker business methods are not necessarily obsolete; they have merely fallen into disuse, which is not quite the same thing.
In their meetings, Quakers do not let anyone impose a decision on the group. Instead, they wait for a consensus to emerge from a free and open discussion.
Probably the most distinctive feature of the Quaker meeting is that it begins and ends in silence. This approach may not lend itself easily to a corporate conference room.
“I suppose that on a very small scale, if you are trying to get people who already trust each other somewhat to express real concerns or come up with different ideas, it can help to think about starting a meeting without an agenda and in silence,” Hurst says. “The pressure of silence is immense, so you can’t just spring it on an unsuspecting group. They have to know its coming and what the objective is. A complete change in physical context from the office environment might help too.”
Hurst, a non-Quaker, says he admires the Friends’ theology and their community-oriented business methods. But he notes that modern corporations long ago grew too big to be managed the Quaker way.
“Huge scale undermines innovation and entrepreneurship and our ability to control our own creations,” he said. “Unless we can make our large, complex organizations a lot smaller, we cannot hope that modern board meetings will ever resemble their Quaker counterparts.”
Nevertheless, some firms may feel that they have little to lose by experimenting with Quaker methods. After all, most managers already spend much of each day in meetings that seem like a complete waste of time. These meetings may be conducted “efficiently” in that they plow through a long agenda and produce decisions for each item. But as those early Quakers knew, efficiency is not necessarily the same thing as effectiveness.
“Studies show that half of management decisions fail,” Benefiel said. “Quaker practices can help managers make better decisions.”
