About this audiobook

Are you overworked and overstressed? Are you doing your best but finding professional success and personal fulfillment frustratingly difficult to attain?

If it seems like you work hard but never get anywhere, maybe the problem is something within you.
Maybe the limitations holding you back come from inside you, not from the outside world.
Zero Limits presents a proven way to break through those self-imposed limitations to achieve more in life than you ever dreamed.

Take it from Joe Vitale. He was once homeless. Now, he's the millionaire author of numerous bestselling books, an Internet celebrity, and an in-demand online marketing guru. What happened to create all of that success? How did he make it happen? Was it hard work, divine providence, or both? The answer may surprise you. It wasn't until he discovered the ancient Hawaiian Ho'oponopono system that he finally found truly unlimited success.

Updated for modern times, Ho'oponopono is
a self-help methodology that removes the mental obstacles that block your path, freeing your mind to find new and unexpected ways to get what you want out of life. It not only works, but it works wonders--both professionally and personally. It works so well in fact, that Vitale had to share it with the world, so that others could experience the fulfillment and happiness he feels every day.

Teaming up with Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len, master teacher of modern Ho'oponopono, Vitale shows you how to attain wealth, health, peace, and happiness. Vitale and Len walk you through the system, helping you clear your mind of subconscious blocks so that destiny and desire can take over and help you get what you truly want from life. It clears out unconsciously accepted beliefs, thoughts, and memories that you don't even know are holding you back.

Imagine wiping your mind's slate clean and starting over without preconceived notions, so you can live in a world of daily wonder. Imagine if anything and everything were possible. In fact, everything is possible when you look at the world free of mental constraints. This book is a key that opens your life to a new universe of possibility and accomplishment--a universe with Zero Limits.

5.0 out of 5 stars A powerful book on a new ager’s mysterious attraction to the most unusual Christian healer in the world who healed an entire ward of criminally insane prisoners by genuine love and even by believing he was 100% responsible for the problems in them that he believed were only projections of himself. e erReviewed in Australia 🇦🇺 on 17 December 2021
Verified Purchase

Written in a lively, humble and rather humorous conversational style keying in on conversations between the author and the good doctor who healed the prisoner-patients.

The book challenges traditional methods of therapy that focuses on fixing the patient. In contrast the Dr Hew Len’s method is based on ho’oponopono - a Hawaiian prayer of love and reconciliation where we as individuals or therapists take 100% responsibility by clearing and cleaning ourselves of toxic data that continuously runs in our subconscious mind.

This harmonises with the prayer of Bible prophet Daniel in Babylon and Jesus prayer which rather than blamecasting and judging others as the problem it includes the words “we” and “us” as the ones needing reconciliation and forgiveness!

While the main subject is touched on briefly, this seems to be full of self promotion for the authors other books and various websites. A large section dedicated to testimonials which seem terrible and I just skipped through before deciding to abandoning the book entirely.

I had to read the book a second time to really get the meaning. It is a simplistic but very powerful way to change your life and all the people you are in contact with. It is a great read and story, and I didn't pick it up to make more money, but to find out the story of how this simple but effective practice changed people who were beyond help.
I've just bought the follow-up book and am loving it.

I was sadly disappointed and gave up reading this book after Joe Vitale's introduction.

I recently heard about the Hawaiian teachings of Ho'oponopono and was really excited to read more about it but, If like me, you are more interested in learning more about the power of emotions than making millions of dollars then this is not the book to read. It saddens me how so many American self-help authors exploit ancient wisdom for material gains. Of course, I live in the western world and these old teachings need explaining in a more modern context but I feel it lost the point straight away when he focused on how this has helped him become successful and buy sports cars, become a #1 author and buy and move into a "Texas hill country estate" (did he make peace with his ex-wife? that would have been a better point to make).

Anyway...

I'm Sorry.
I Forgive you.
I Thank You.
I Love you.

If anyone can suggest a more humble read on Ho'oponopono I would be very grateful. Thanks x

1.0 out of 5 stars The first self advertising book I ever read!Reviewed in India 🇮🇳 on 5 July 2021

I was shocked beyond disbelief to see that the author of this book, Joe Vitale, has written this book to advertise himself, his other books, seminars, websites etc, without any shame!
In this book ' Zero limits', he starts advertising another of his books, right from the cover of the 'Zero limits' and throughout the book, he mentions it and how great the book is and how great he is, at least 20 times!

I did some research after and I came to know that, unfortunately there are quite a few so called 'authors' who write this kind of so called 'books' to advertise themselves and other authors, in order to sell a so called 'book' !
So readers be aware!

Regarding the subject of this book , which , as I said before, is just a pretext for Joe Vitale to advertise himself , the subject of the book should have been , an ancient Hawaiian healing technique called Ho'oponopono...
BUT....There is a very big BUT here, because, to describe the technique, doesnt take more than 2 pages! And moreover, there is a website with this technique, where you can go and read and learn the technique, which is so simple, and its for free!
So, what the author does, other than advertising himself, he repeats many, many times throughout the book, what is the technique all about and includes a dozen or more letters from people who did the seminar with him, and they are thrilled at the results, of course!

Now, this character, Joe Vitale, has intrigued me so much, with his shameless non-sense self advertising book, that I had a look at few of his other so called 'books' and, yes it's hilarious, if you dont have to pay for such a book!
For example, he has a book , about hypnotic writing, in which , guess what, he advertises himself at nausea as a great hypnotist, with all his titles, books, websites, even phone numbers, its absolutely hilarious!

So, readers, go ahead and buy it fast , before its out of stock!
....just kidding!

What a shame. Joe Vitale is a master of marketing and self-promotion which comes across clearly in this book, with its references to ther books of his, promotion of course etc which for me resulted in a book lacking in deep thought, meaning and spirituality.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a WOW of a bookReviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 28 June 2017

For some time, I have been living an inspired life. One day, quite recently,I noticed a lump on my side. I knew that I had created it,somehow, I just knew.

I went on youtube for healing mantra music and somehow got onto Joe's Presentations. I felt that if it was easy,I would sign up and immediately order the ebook on Amazon. This happened with great ease. Because of how the youtubePresentationsAND the book found me, it felt exactly the perfect time with the perfect messages for my own healing.

With the book and other youtube presentations with Dr Hew Len, I now more fully get what taking full responsibility is. I was not speaking to my inner child in a way that would help, in fact I had not bothered to ask my inner child's permission .....or even had a motherly conversation. Why? Because I simply did not know about this.

I feel blessed .....I feel inspired that I took action. If guided to, I will travel to be at one of Joe's Presentations. In the meantime, I am honouring mySelf, my inner child and cleaning.

I know that the lump is the messenger ..... it lead me to the book. My story is not over yet and I don't even know what happens next except that I have a complete buy-in to do the clearing all the time. Thank you Joe for showing up and dancing your dance.

I love the concept of Ho'oponopono and I bought this book expecting to learn more about how to actually do it.

I read all about the results of Dr Hew Len's work in healing a ward full of criminally insane patients and there was a whole chapter, called "The Evidence" 33 pages devoted to delighted customers saying just how life changing the Ho'oponopono workshop they had paid for had been. But few details.

There was no definitive description of how to actually do it.
Some descriptions said you simply need to say "I love you" many times.
Some stories spoke of saying "I love you, I'm sorry, forgive me, thank you" over and over.
Some stories reversed the order of how you said it and I was left confused and in need of a workshop to explain it all!

At one point in the book Joe says on page 47 "Again I'm forbidden to share the intimate details of the workshop. I'm serious. I had to sign a nondisclosure agreement. Mostly it was to protect the privacy of the attendees. But I can tell you this: It is about taking full responsibility for your life"

So Joe has written a book, where he has signed a non disclosure over sharing the details?!

The last page invites you to buy a downloadable course on zero limits or to actually experience a zero limits seminar with Dr Hew Len and Joe Vitale.

If you want an introduction to the concept of Ho'oponopono and are interested in its results then this book is for you.
If you want to learn how to actually do it, then this book is not for you, you need to buy the supporting materials.

My experience with the book was that I was left feeling short changed and frustrated.
Such a shame, such a shame.

What was best about the book is that it incorporated some important invocations that many Tibetan Buddhists say, regardless of what school they may practice. What was harder to follow was the condensation of the Six Yogas that constituted the second part of the book. Since I have another, fuller translation of such, that may be just an inconvenience for me. It may, however, arouse the curiosity of the novice practitioner and encourage that person to find a proper teacher. Sadly, as I have noticed over the past 50-60 years or so, there are many works in Tibetan that remain only.in the original language, books that Garma Chang refers to in the text. (less)

3.0 out of 5 stars Challenging but Rewarding
Reviewed in the United States on May 26, 2011

This book has some lofty disclaimer work at the beginning.
That, combined with some of the broken language and esoteric references initially makes it a hard read.
But it does a pretty good job of helping the reader visualize the techniques for various Tibetan Yoga techniques.
The discussion in roughly the middle of the book about Heat Yoga is my favorite.
If you are researching for descriptions of the techniques or theories behind Tibetan Yoga, this is a pretty good one.
I encourage you to read the terms in the back of the book. There are lots of footnotes and references to them.
Without doing so, it makes the book harder to read, due to the shear volume of new words.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best definitive book on ZenReviewed in the United States on March 18, 2017

I regard this book as the best accessible one on Ch'an (Japanese: Zen) by a highly enlightened Ch'an authority among all the Chinese and English books on the topic. It explains the nature of zen, its practices, and some stories of several most important Ch'an masters. The most important part in this book is that which deals with the problems most Ch'an beginner would have, such as, Is Ch’an completely unintelligible? What is Ch’an "enlightenment"? and the relation between Ch’an and Mahayana Buddhism. I use it as the most important source for explication of Ch'an mechanism at the class:

5.0 out of 5 stars A breath of fresh air!Reviewed in the United States on May 15, 2005

Garma Chang's engaging book conveys a clear idea of what Ch'an/Zen practice actually involves - illustrated by succinct readings from classic Ch'an/Zen texts, spanning centuries. These are not just more 'Zen stories' - presented without rhyme of reason. You get a good spread of teachings, backed up by fascinating observations about certain key terms/idioms,and there isn't a wasted word, from cover-to-cover. While respectful of the Ch'an/Zen axiom - "not to speak too plainly" (pu shuo pu), Chang's remarks place the practice in its proper context of Mahayana Buddhism. So far possible, Chang takes you 'inside' the minds of the teachers and practicers quoted in this book. This book offers some refreshing 'angles' on Zen practice, which reflect Chang's own experience in mainland Chinese temples and a familiarity with key Ch'an/Zen sources. Chang had an excellent command of English (not always the case with Asian Buddhist teachers/translators), and was thus well placed to present the material in this text. Following the Communist takeover of China, Chang took up American citizenship and eventually became a Professor at Penn State Uni, drawing on his valuable experience with traditional Buddhist teachings.

Alas, this excellent book has had a relatively low profile since its publication in 1959, and well deserves reprinting. It was perhaps, ahead of its time, hitting the market before Westerners wanted to practice Ch'an/Zen with any seriousness, or in sufficient numbers, to give it the profile it deserved. The subsequent boom in interest - fostered by the fruits of post-war contact with Japan, brought focus upon the Japanese Zen schools. Still, it is worth noting that - D.T. Suzuki, one of the most seminal figures behind this expansion of interest - based his most successful writings upon the records of Chinese masters of the Tang. I'm not suggesting, for a minute, that we should ignore the good things brought our way by dint of contact with the Japanese Zen schools - but,in some respects, we have become mired in institutional postures which matter far less than we might suppose. Indeed, Philip Kalpeau's Japanese Zen teachers had 'mixed' backgrounds - and, not everyone toes this 'institutional' line.

Chang touches on this issue, which had its roots in Chinese Buddhism, but in the final estimate, it isn't such a big deal. Refreshingly, Garma Chang presents Ch'an/Zen Buddhism on a large canvas, reflecting his wide experience (he had Tibetan Buddhist teachers, besides Chinese ones). Besides this book dealing with Ch'an/Zen, he gave us a beautiful translation of Milarepa's Buddhist verses (The Hundred Thousand Songs of Milarepa), a translation of the Maharatnakuta, and a truly groundbreaking translation of key Hua-yen texts, with lively commentary suitable for contemporary readers. These latter works have kept a stronger profile - but, if you value Ch'an/Zen Buddhism, don't miss this precious little pearl of a book - 'The Practice of Zen.'

I couldn't agree more with Ikeda-san. I'd give it "six stars"! This book was my "Bible" when I first became interested in Zen. Thank heavens it's now back in print after years of unavailability.

Particularly inspiring are the 40-odd pages devoted to discourses of great masters like Hsu Yun and Han-Shan (Nansen), followed by the most inspirational extracts from autobiographies of classic masters from the "golden age of Zen" in China.

Here's Zen straight from the horse's mouth, straight from the living experience of enlightened masters. If I were to have but one book on Zen it would be this one. I'd recommend anyone who takes Zen seriously to get it while you can.

Scattered throughout the book are gathas composed after awakenings, such as:

Waves and ripples flow

In the cool sky;

Fish and birds swim

In one mirror

On and on, day after day.

Last night the moon fell from the heavens.

Now is the time to illumine

The black dragon's pearl. .

... ( autobiography of Han Shan )

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best definitive book on Zen

I regard this book as the best accessible one on Ch'an (Japanese: Zen) by a highly enlightened Ch'an authority among all the Chinese and English books on the topic. It explains the nature of zen, its practices, and some stories of several most important Ch'an masters. The most important part in this book is that which deals with the problems most Ch'an beginner would have, such as, Is Ch’an completely unintelligible? What is Ch’an "enlightenment"? and the relation between Ch’an and Mahayana Buddhism. I use it as the most important source for explication of Ch'an mechanism at the class:

4.0 out of 5 stars It was an excellent introduction to some basic concepts of Buddhism
Reviewed in the United States on April 2, 2018
I read this book around 1970, soon after it was published in a paperback edition by "Perennial Library". It was an excellent introduction to some basic concepts of Buddhism, along with the goals of sustained quiet meditation and focus of the mind.

However, my overall insight is that the practice of Zen is nothing more than trying to temporarily STOP an individual's thought processes, and thus achieve a sensation or awareness of "satori" or enlightenment. Trying to use one's will and consciousness as a means of "stopping" one's own thoughts is sort of ridiculous, in my opinion.

It's like if you try to swat a fly, and the fly flits away and then lands on your fly-swatter. That's a good koan!

Those ancient monks were deluding themselves and their followers, in my most humble of all possible opinions.
